Participating countries

The idea of the Smokefree Class Competition was first established in Finland in 1989.
In the school-year 1997/1998 the Smokefree Class Competition was carried out on a European level
for the first time. World-wide, Algeria, Canada, Israel, Russia, Tunesia and the United Arab Emirates have noticed the project.

In the school-year 2009/2010 the competition will be carried out in the following countries:

Belgium, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxemburg,
Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom (Wales).

Bulgaria will enter the SFC-Network as a new partner this year.

The Slovac Republic will no longer be able to maintain the competition in their country due to financial constraints.
The SFC-Network will for sure keep in touch with this former partner.
